A research team at the Manchester NHS Foundation Trust are calling for patients who have been diagnosed with radiation proctopathy following their radiotherapy treatment. The team are running a randomised feasibility study, looking to identify a new treatment for radiation proctopathy (also called radiation proctitis).

Criteria

People wishing to take part in the study will need to have completed pelvic radiotherapy treatment 6 or more months ago and have a diagnosis of radiation proctopathy confirmed by endoscopy (sigmoidoscopy or colonoscopy).

Please note that the research team are unable to accept applicants who have had previous Purastat treatment or Sacrulfate treatment for radiation proctopathy.
