What is our Medical Advisory Panel?

Our Medical Advisory Panel brings together leading clinicians and researchers from across the UK who share a commitment to improving care for people affected by Pelvic Radiation Disease (PRD). Their expertise helps ensure that our guidance and resources are clinically robust, evidence-based, and aligned with best practice, with each member contributing unique insight to our work.

About Gina Giebner

As part of our Medical Advisory Panel, we are delighted to spotlight Gina Giebner, RD, MSc, BSc (Hons), a specialist oncology dietitian with more than 20 years of experience supporting people affected by gastrointestinal cancers. Gina has advanced training in managing the side effects and late effects of cancer treatment.

Gina is a Specialist Dietitian for the Greater Glasgow and Clyde NHS and was part of the team that formed the highly regarded Pelvic Radiation Late Effects Service at the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre in Glasgow, a pioneering service that supported people living with PRD for seven years before closing due to a lack of funding. She is also Director of The Rehab Dietitian Limited, her private practice which provides guidance when standard approaches have not delivered results.

She was also a multidisciplinary team contributor and co author of the British Society of Gastroenterology guidance on managing acute and chronic gastrointestinal complications from cancer treatment.

A valued contributor to PRDA’s work, Gina is passionate about supporting people living with PRD. As one of our recent guest experts for Chat Together peer support sessions, she has shared specialist insight on diet and nutrition, one of the topics regularly raised by people living with PRD. Gina is also leading the update of our Diet, Nutrition and Pelvic Radiation Disease guide.

Gina is especially passionate about developing accessible, practical resources that help people better understand and manage the ongoing effects of treatment. Her expertise helps ensure our information remains patient focused and supportive for both healthcare professionals and people living with PRD.
