Why is the public consultation only for England?
The public consultation to shape the National Cancer Plan is only for England because healthcare is a devolved matter in the UK. This means that Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland have their own separate health services and policies, managed by their respective governments.
The Department of Health and Social Care is responsible for healthcare in England, including NHS England, and therefore, the National Cancer Plan applies only to England. Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland develop their own cancer strategies and health policies based on their individual priorities and healthcare systems.
