Those of us who have been treated for cancer know what an MDT (Multi-Disciplinary Team) is – a collective of different specialists who get together to discuss our case.

Macmillan have set up a trial project in which a panel of specialists gets together online to do exactly that.  They are now looking for patients who suffer consequences of cancer treatment to use the service.  The service must be accessed on your behalf by your GP or other healthcare professional – patients cannot approach it directly.  Macmillan have produced a leaflet that describes the service which you can download here.

For more information about the vMDT, including who can be referred, the history and background of the project or to browse the FAQs, please visit www.macmillan.org.uk/vmdt. If you still have questions, please contact vmdtcoordinator@christie.nhs.uk
