Huge congratulations go to the Sheffield Late Effects team for winning the the Ingrid Fuchs Cancer Nursing Award.

Covering a variety of fields and specialties, the Nursing Times Awards are made up of 25 categories. The Ingrid Fuchs Award is open to individual nurses or teams who have enhanced the quality of care for cancer patients. The award recognises nurses who innovate and excel in delivering compassionate, patient-centred care, making a lasting impact on cancer care delivery.

Ingrid Fuchs was a clinical nurse specialist who wrote about her own cancer journey for the Nursing Times. By writing as a health professional about her own cancer experience, she hoped to offer new insights for other nurses. Ingrid died in 2022 and this category has been named in tribute to her.

Out of the 12 nominees, we are thrilled that the Sheffield Late Effects Service won the award. This achievement not only raises much-needed awareness for late effects services but also acknowledges the hard work and dedication of the team.
