The Oxford University Hospitals Macmillan Radiotherapy Late Effects Service is now available to people in Oxfordshire, Wiltshire, Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes. The service was initially available to internal OUH referrals from August 2024 but referrals can now be made by a healthcare professional such as a GP or by self-referral.

Face-to-face, telephone and video appointments are available for people 18+ who are experiencing late effects of radiotherapy.

The service at Oxford has been developed with the support of patient representatives, including one of PRDA’s Volunteers. The input and representation of people with lived experience of PRD in developing Late Effects services is vital.

“[the new service] will play an important part in providing essential information, advice, and active help for patients before, during and following their radiotherapy
